Predictor tool

Question for the site administrators

The Predictor Tool shows the output of your nearest generators as figures, whilst the SAP, PVGIS and SolarFarm predicted outputs are only shown graphically, why can't they be shown as figures as well?

Regards

Chas

Predictor tool

Hi Chas,

The predictor tool is still under development so thanks for the useful feedback - i'll explore ways of printing the values without overcrowding the page any more than it already is.

In the meantime, you can view the values of the SAP/PVGIS/SSF predictions by hovering your mouse over the bar in question on the graph - the bar should then be highlighted and the value displayed.

Thanks,

Jamie (SSF Team)

Predictor tool

Doh!!

Didn't realise there was a hovering feature - no need to alter anything, that does it all, unless a note to hover if you want to see the exact figures for each of the predictors.

Thanks Jamie

Predictor tool

Just tried the Predictor Tool and noticed that my “nearest neighbour” (i.e. my own system!) compared only my first year of data which was rather low as I had the wrong inverter for the first 5 months.

The predictions came out similar to my own PVGIS estimates and a bit below my actual production in years 2 and 3.

Could the comparison data be updated sometime, maybe taking a wider average where possible to iron out such anomolies?

Predictor tool

Hi Steve,

We currently in the process of completely redeveloping the MgDB website in a new framework. As part of this, i'll personally be redeveloping the Predictor tool and implementing several improvements that have been planned for some time. These include using live data for the nearest neighbours and replacing the PVGIS-profiler with a live PVGIS prediction for both “classic” and “CMSAF” from the PVGIS website (so the prediction should then match exactly with what you get if you use the PVGIS tool yourself).

Unfortunately, this means the improvements are tied in with the relaunch of the newly redeveloped site, which we're hoping will be in Autumn sometime (but it's too early to give an exact launch date).

FYI, there'll also be several other minor improvements and a fresh new design to the site when it's relaunched. After the launch, we'll be in a much better position to develop new features in-house so a whole host of long-planned features should be coming to the site…

Best Wishes

Jamie (SSF Team)
